Obituary - Jan Perry
CCHS Vice President

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Janet Perry. She joined the Carson City Historical Society when she moved to Carson City some 20 years ago. Jan accepted the position of Vice President over 15 years ago and was quite active in planning CCHS social events. Jan was an active, energetic woman. Along with her participation in all the Historical Society events, she was part of the Tea Ladies who presented Teas at the Foreman-Roberts House some years ago; she played an important role in her PEO Chapter raising funds for women's scholarships; and was involved with the Mark Twain Garden Club, the Presbyterian Church, and other groups.

Jan will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.

Obituary - James G. Capitrant
September 14, 2015

On September 14, 2015, James G. Capitrant, "Cap," lost his battle with cancer. Cap was a dedicated member of the Carson City Historical Society for over 20 years. While he didn't attend our various functions, he most generously supported our various efforts.

He was with the Carson School District from 1964-1991. Cap ended his teaching career as the Adult Education Coordinator after successfully handling various positions with the District. You may remember him if you or family members attended Carson schools. His generosity, dedication and friendship will be greatly missed by the Historical Society.
